On May 29, 2025, DEDO Organization took part in the monthly Sub-National Coordination Meeting of the South West State Child Protection Area of Responsibility (SWS) held at the Ministry of Women and Human Rights Development’s Conference Hall in Baidoa.
The meeting convened child protection partners operating across South West State, creating a platform for reviewing progress, identifying challenges, and fostering collaboration in the delivery of protection services to vulnerable children.
Key discussion areas included:
- Strengthening child protection systems at the community and institutional levels.
- Improving case management practices and referral pathways for at-risk children.
- Enhancing coordination and information-sharing among humanitarian and development actors.
- Capacity building for frontline child protection workers.
- Advocacy for increased support and funding for child protection programming in South West State.
DEDO Organization shared updates on its ongoing child protection interventions, highlighted field-level challenges, and emphasized the importance of community-based approaches to safeguarding children’s rights.
Participation in this forum underscores DEDO’s firm commitment to active engagement in strategic coordination mechanisms that support the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of children across Somalia.
