February 10, 2025 – Baidoa, South West State (KGS)
In response to a request from the Minister of Information and Community Awareness of South West State, Mr. Ibrahim Bilaal, we partnered with the Tourism Department to launch a tree-planting initiative aimed at enhancing the Ministry’s compound and promoting long-term environmental sustainability.
This initiative is part of our broader commitment to combat climate change, improve air quality, and create a healthier, greener, and more visually appealing environment around government institutions. As part of today’s effort, over 50 trees were successfully planted within the Ministry’s premises. These included a variety of native and drought-resistant species selected for their adaptability to the local climate and long-term ecological value.
The planting activity was conducted with the active participation of ministry staff, community volunteers, and environmental specialists—demonstrating a shared commitment to sustainable urban development and environmental stewardship.
Looking ahead, we plan to expand this greening initiative to additional public institutions across South West State, aligning with our long-term environmental conservation strategy and our vision of greener, climate-resilient cities.
