Tree Planting at Haawataako School in Afgooye District

December 8, 2024

Today, we successfully carried out an important environmental activity the planting of new trees at Haawataako School, located in Afgooye District, Lower Shabelle Region. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with #Salmo_Organization.

Haawataako School, which is officially registered under the Ministry of Education of South West State (KGS), serves over 500 students. It was particularly important to establish a green space within the school compound where students can rest and seek shade during hot weather conditions.

This effort serves as a strong example of how collaboration between communities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can contribute to improving both the quality of education and living conditions for Somali students. The trees planted today will provide long-term environmental benefits, including cooling the surroundings, enhancing the school’s aesthetic appeal, and promoting a culture of environmental responsibility among students.
