Buur Hakaba District, Bay Region 16/02/2026 As part of its ongoing commitment to mitigating the impacts of climate change across the country, Dedo Organization has successfully distributed 30 tree seedlings to selected educational institutions and health facilities in Buur Hakaba District.
This initiative is designed to strengthen environmental sustainability at the local level by increasing green spaces within public institutions that serve the community daily. Schools and health centers were prioritized due to their central role in shaping healthy and resilient communities.
The tree distribution aims to achieve several key objectives:
- Promote Environmental Sustainability: Increasing tree cover contributes to restoring the natural environment and supporting biodiversity.
- Improve Air Quality: Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, helping reduce pollution and create cleaner air.
- Enhance Climate Change Resilience: Tree planting supports carbon sequestration and helps communities adapt to rising temperatures and changing climate patterns.
- Create Healthier Surroundings: Green environments provide shade, reduce heat stress, and improve the well-being of students, patients, and staff.
By planting trees within school compounds, students will also gain practical environmental awareness and develop a culture of conservation from an early age. Similarly, health facilities will benefit from greener and more comfortable surroundings for patients and healthcare workers.
Dedo Organization reaffirmed that tree planting remains a key step toward building climate resilience and supporting long-term environmental protection efforts in Buur Hakaba District. The organization plans to continue working closely with local authorities, community leaders, and institutional management to ensure the proper care and sustainability of the planted trees.
This activity forms part of Dedo Organization’s broader environmental strategy aimed at fostering sustainable development and safeguarding natural resources for future generations.
