The Minister of Livestock, Forestry, and Rangeland of South West State, Hon. Sandhere Mad Iftin, officially inaugurated the Awareness and Training Forum on Livestock Care held in Baidoa District.
This important forum was successfully organized through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Livestock, GREDO Organization, Save the Children Somalia, and the Baidoa District Local Government.
The primary objective of the forum was to raise awareness and strengthen technical capacity in the areas of animal health and welfare a critical component of effective livestock management and sustainable rural development. By promoting responsible animal care practices, the forum aimed to support sustainable livelihoods, enhance food security, and build the resilience of pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities in the region.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, humanitarian organizations, veterinary professionals, and community members dedicated to advancing animal welfare standards across South West State.
