In recognition of World Environment Day, observed globally on June 5th, the Dedo Organization through its branch in Berdaale District organized a special event aimed at promoting environmental awareness and enhancing local reforestation efforts. The event served as a platform to encourage community engagement in environmental conservation and to highlight the importance of green spaces in sustainable development.
Key Achievements:
Tree Planting Campaign:
A large-scale tree planting exercise was successfully conducted in and around Berdaale School, where various types of trees were planted. The initiative aimed to reinforce environmental protection efforts while raising awareness among students and community members about the vital role of trees in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity.
Stakeholder Participation:
The event witnessed strong collaboration with the #Halgan_Women’s_Rights_Group, whose members played an instrumental role in the awareness campaign. Their participation showcased the critical contribution of women in leading environmental initiatives and promoting community resilience.
Educational Engagement:
The school administration and teachers at Berdaale School were actively involved in the initiative, motivating students to take responsibility for their environment. Their leadership helped instill a sense of environmental stewardship among the younger generation.
