Clean-up, Community Painting Initiative and Tree Planting Campaign Commemorating Freedom Week
In observance of Freedom Week, and in close collaboration with the Baydhabo District Administration, the District Youth Organization, and the DEDO Environmental Development Organization, a comprehensive clean-up and tree planting campaign was successfully carried out in Baydhabo City.
This initiative aimed to enhance urban aesthetics and promote environmental sustainability by mobilizing youth and community members to restore the cleanliness and greenery of the city’s public spaces. Key activities included:
- Systematic cleaning of streets, sidewalks, and public areas to improve sanitation and reduce environmental hazards
- Strategic planting of trees across selected locations to boost urban greenery and contribute to climate resilience
- Community engagement and awareness-raising on the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainable urban management
The campaign garnered widespread participation from local authorities, youth groups, and residents, exemplifying a collective commitment to fostering a healthier and more attractive urban environment.
