Clean-up Campaign Conducted at Isha Baidoa
On June 29, 2024, a community-led clean-up campaign was successfully carried out at Isha Baidoa, in collaboration with the Youth Directorate, the Director of Youth Affairs, and the Ministry of Health of the Southwest State of Somalia.
The initiative, led by the Youth Administration of the Southwest State, aimed to promote public hygiene, environmental awareness, and youth engagement in community service. The campaign focused on restoring cleanliness to one of the city’s most frequented areas and encouraging civic responsibility among residents.
Key activities included:
- Removal of accumulated waste and litter
- Cleaning of surrounding public spaces and drainage areas
- Public sensitization on hygiene and environmental care
The event saw active participation from local youth groups, government officials, and community members, all united by a shared commitment to improving the health and cleanliness of the environment.
This clean-up effort is part of a wider strategy to enhance urban sanitation, reduce public health risks, and engage young people as key agents of positive environmental change.
