In recognition of World Environment Day, observed annually on June 5th, a successful event was held in Afgooye District, Lower Shebelle Region to promote environmental protection and sustainable development.
As part of the celebration, a clean-up campaign was carried out at the district center, along with tree-planting activities at various government institutions across Afgooye. These efforts form part of ongoing initiatives to strengthen community engagement in environmental conservation, combat climate change, and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the environment.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of the South West State, as well as to UNICEF, for their significant support in organizing and implementing this important initiative.
This impactful collaboration highlights the importance of strong partnerships between communities, government institutions, and international organizations in achieving a clean, sustainable environment one that benefits both the present and future generations.
