Tree Planting at the Bay Region Police Headquarters in Baidoa

February 12, 2025 – Baay

As part of efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change and promote environmental protection, a variety of trees were officially handed over today to the Bay Regional Police Headquarters.

The goal of this tree-planting initiative is to reduce deforestation, enhance greenery around public institutions, and create a healthier and greener environment. The trees we provided to the Police Commander include different species—both fruit-bearing trees and shade-giving trees.

These trees play an important role in beautifying the surroundings, providing shade, and reducing high temperatures within the compound—especially during periods of intense heat.

The Police Commander of Bay Region, Mr. Aamin Mad Daruur, officially received the trees and emphasized the importance of strengthening efforts to improve environmental aesthetics and protection. He also praised the ongoing environmental initiatives and encouraged other institutions and the community to actively participate in similar efforts.

This tree-planting activity is part of a broader plan aimed at improving and beautifying government facilities while raising public awareness to take part in combating climate change, fostering a culture of tree planting, and promoting environmental conservation.
