Today, we participated in the Somali Women and Climate Conference, held in Mogadishu at Istanbul Hotel, and organized by the Women in Environment and Climate Change (SWECC).
The main objective of the conference was to strengthen the active participation of Somali women in climate change mitigation and environmental management. The discussions addressed existing challenges, emerging opportunities, and the critical role women play in shaping inclusive, sustainable, and resilient climate policies.
The conference also served as a platform for knowledge sharing, strengthening partnerships, and building collaboration networks among environmental organizations, civil society actors, and women leaders at the forefront of climate action.
Dedo Organization once again reaffirms its strong commitment to promoting women’s leadership and their meaningful engagement in environmental issues and climate change efforts across Somalia.
Finally, we extend our sincere appreciation to Women in Environment and Climate Change (SWECC) for organizing this timely and impactful event that has amplified the voices of Somali women in national climate dialogues.
